A sneak peak into "How to Dress Vintage" (now available for pre-order)
For over a year, I have been keeping a secret…
and today I am thrilled to finally share it with you. Back in November of 2023, I posted a video expressing my dream of publishing a book that would answer the question I receive most often: "How do I dress vintage?" Little did I know that just a few weeks later, the team at Page Street Publishing would reach out to make this dream a reality. By 2024, we had a plan in place for How to Dress Vintage and I am SO excited to announce that it will be available on August 12th, 2025!!!!
One of my biggest goals with How to Dress Vintage was to make it feel like an extension of what I already do online—telling the stories behind the clothing, the designers, and the trends that shaped different eras. If you’ve ever wondered how to style a 1940s day dress, identify an authentic 1970s disco piece, or mix vintage with modern fashion, this book will be your go-to resource.
What to Expect from "How to Dress Vintage"
This book is a culmination of years spent studying, collecting, and wearing vintage fashion. It’s part history, part style guide, and 100% dedicated to helping you navigate the world of vintage with confidence. Whether you’re looking to date vintage items, shop for vintage-inspired pieces, or looking to create outfits using pieces you already own, this book will walk you through the specifics of “dressing vintage”.
It's structured by decade, covering the 20th century from the 1900s to the 1990s. Each chapter highlights the ideal silhouettes, tops, bottoms, one-pieces, necklines, collars, sleeve types, colors, patterns, and accessories that define each era. It also provides some of my favorite family photos, incredible photography by Katie Kopan, and tons of historical imagery.
(I also included a step-by-step hair tutorial and some outfit “formulas”, for those who truly don’t know where to start!)
