A WWII Performance Dress and the Sergeant that wore it!

The Fascinating History of Adah Strauss-Jaffer’s dress with The Vestiges of History!

I’m so excited to share a special episode of The Vintage Vault today where I interview Dylan from Vestiges of History!

Dylan graciously shared one of Adah Strauss-Jaffer, a talented band leader from Virginia during WWII, original performance dresses—a stunning piece made from rayon crepe that Adah wore during her publicity photos (and maybe even concerts for the troops.) Together, we explore the history behind this dress, from its construction to its wartime context, and reflect on the incredible women who used their talents to uplift others during difficult times.

Find Dylan on Youtube, Patreon, and on Substack!
