This is so great! Two easy ones I use to search are single stitch and made in hong kong for more 80s 90s stuff!

Thank you for the addition! I'm kicking myself for forgetting to mention single stitching and deeper hems...!

Yes! I have so much to learn about finding true vintage. I'd also be interested in any tips you may have on using non vintage items (reproduction or otherwise) to still achieve a vintage look.

Thank you! I am definitely hoping to feature something about this in the near future!

Flip. Heck Gabi. This is just fantastic.

I have been lucky enough to score (I think) some vintage pieces at a thrift store: Gucci handbag 1990's. YSL Leather pencil skirt. I am going to cross ref the labels etc against this wonderful article.

Thank you.

This may not apply to clothes, but some vintage items will say made in Korea. Korea seems to be where cheap things were made, instead of China back then lol. I have an old sewing box my great grandma bought for my mom a long time ago, it and all the stuff in it, were made in Korea. Whats cool tho, is i have some metal sewing scissors that were my great grandmas, and they are made in the USA.

Woah, that's a fascinating observation about vintage items and their origins!

It's interesting to see how production locations have shifted over time. Itโ€™s amazing how these items carry not just utility but also memories and stories from different eras. Thanks for sharing this piece of history, ladycolumbia :)
